Company Description
Hi there. I’m Patricia from Cups of Love Studio. I am married to a wonderful husband that is incredibly supportive of my activities…even if it means he is sometimes covered in glitter lol. Between us we have 8 children aged 37 to 7…including our little miracle Tyler, who is ours together and was our surprise when I was 45. He is the link that binds our blended families together and is very loved by his older siblings.
I have always loved to create. One of my favourite gifts as a child was a Jon Gnagy Art kit. I spent countless hours with that kit. In high school I’d spend lunch hours in the art room painting and won some bursaries for summer art classes.
As I’d started a family young (my first at 16) and married at 18, I did not have time to paint much but was always doing something- knitting, crocheting, needlework, sewing, house renovations etc.
I finished high school later in life and went on to get my Medical Office Assistant degree. I never actually ended up going into that career, as I started working at a photo/imaging lab called Laser Images in Cherry Lane Mall while trying to get on at a walk-in-clinic. I then ended up becoming the manager and then owning it! The store was renamed Skaha Pro Photo. I loved printing photos and seeing the world through others’ eyes, but especially loved doing photoshop restorations and making mugs and t-shirts.
I had to close the business in 2005 because of a bad situation with the new management at Cherry Lane and London Drugs coming into the mall. I went back to school and got my Computer repair technician diploma and worked doing that for years with Staples and Computer Source and then eventually from my home.
After I remarried and our son was born, I did daycare so I could be at home with him. After moving to beautiful Kaleden, covid restrictions made it difficult to continue doing daycare, so I started crafting again. I started selling my work and in 2020 it all kind of exploded into a full-time business. I started just doing sublimation items and quickly expanded to resin work and acquired better equipment to keep up and increase my ability to create different items.
I work pretty much everyday…usually 12 hours, but I love it immensely. Everything I make is made with love and I am very particular about quality. I just love helping people make the vision become a reality and create special one-of-a-kind gifts or items that mean something to them personally.
I look forward to working with you,
Patricia Lutz
